After living in Madrid since 2008 and teaching week-daily Ashtanga classes, I recently moved back to Bangkok and am now offering Ashtanga Yoga, Mysore classes, in the traditional format (6 days a week) here.
Life before Yoga I grew up in Northern Thailand where I spent 6 years living in a buddhist temple as a novice. There I studied Pali language, basic Sanskrit, buddhist philosphy, history and meditation. Next step was Germany where I went to Berlin to study German and spent a total of almost 5 years. Then back in Thailand I worked in the international affairs office of a private hospital group in Bangkok as German and English language coordinator.
Getting to know yoga After working in the hospital for a few years, I became seriously ill, which is why I started with Yoga to become better, and it worked!!
Entering the ashtanga world In 2006, Sasha, my first teacher was the first Thai to be authorized to teach Ashtanga Yoga. When she came to Thailand to teach a friend of mine recommended me to practice with her. My first class made me fall in love with Ashtanga and I never looked back since then.I truly believe in the words of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, our Guru, who said: "man who cannot walk, can walk after practicing yoga." After dedicating myself seriously to Ashtanga I completely recovered from my illness. Since we moving to Madrid in 2008 I practice by myself at home with my partner. It makes me totally understand how to focus on your practice and how to do so without a teacher present.
We try to attend Ashtanga workshops in Thailand and abroad with some senior teachers for example: Peter Sanson and Petri Raisanen etc.
